The first version of this specification was published in 1951. Since that time the RCSC has published seventeen updated editions based upon real world experience, new research, new knowledge, and changes in engineering design practice.
Reading the entire specification provides plenty of useful and actionable information. The complete document is close to one hundred pages in length and if your main interest is the pre-installation verification of bolts that is covered in Section 7.
